Own the Road: HOW-TO Build A SCOTT DI2 Race Machine for 2025
At CycloMonster, every bike build is an art form, and our recent Scott Foil 2025 assembly was no exception. Here’s a look into how we brought this masterpiece to life:
Step 1: Unboxing & Inspection

We started by carefully unboxing the HMX carbon frame and checking all parts, including the Syncros 1.5 Foil handlebar and components, ensuring each was flawless.
Step 2: Installing the Drivetrain & Di2 Battery

The Shimano Di2 drivetrain was fitted with precision. The Di2 battery was carefully placed inside the bottom bracket to power the wireless electronic shifting. This placement not only maintains the sleek, aerodynamic profile but also ensures the bike’s clean look.
Setting up a modern Shimano Di2 system starts with installing the core components, including derailleurs, shifters, and the battery, ensuring all wiring is properly routed and securely connected. Once everything is in place, the next step is pairing the system with the Shimano E-Tube Project app, allowing for firmware updates and initial configuration. Fine-tuning the shifting performance follows, using the app or manual micro-adjustments to align the derailleurs perfectly. Riders can then customize shifting preferences, including Synchro and Semi-Synchro modes, to match their riding style. Finally, a thorough test ensures smooth operation, and a full charge prepares the system for the road.
Step 3: Seatpost & Grease Application

We meticulously greased the seatpost to prevent any creaking and ensure smooth adjustments. This step ensures a snug and secure fit while allowing the rider to adjust their seat height as needed. Grease was also applied to bolts and threads to prevent corrosion and facilitate easy future adjustments.
Step 4: Cable Integration & Handlebars

The fully integrated cable routing through the handlebars required finesse, with cables being hidden for aerodynamic advantage and a streamlined appearance. We also took the time to carefully wrap the handlebars with premium handlebar tape, providing comfort and grip for the rider.

Step 5: Wheel & Brake Setup

With precision, we mounted the Syncros wheels and set up the hydraulic disc brakes. After installing the calipers, we bled the brake lines to ensure responsive stopping power, an essential for high-speed descents.
Step 6: Final Adjustments & Test Ride

The final touches involved setting up the saddle and handlebars for rider comfort and performance, checking the tire pressure, and performing a thorough test ride. Before handing it over to the customer, we checked for perfect shifting, brake responsiveness, and handling.

At CycloMonster, each custom build, like the Scott Foil 2025, is treated with care, precision, and attention to detail. Whether it’s applying grease to the seatpost or fitting Di2 batteries, every step brings the bike closer to peak performance. Want your dream bike? Visit us and let’s build it together!
